VPS with 48 or 64 GB RAM: several services on one machine
Website, database, n8n, bots and a small game server on one machine: isolate each service, set its limits and monitor memory.
A VPS with 48 or 64 GB of RAM can host several services on one machine: a website, a database, n8n, bots and a small game server. To do so, isolate each service, set its memory limit and monitor everything. As of 7 November 2026, the Performance plan gives 48 GB for 21.99 € and the Pro plan 64 GB for 34.99 €.
- One service per container: a failure or a leak stays confined.
- mem_limit sets the maximum memory of each service.
- docker stats and free -h show the real consumption.
- The Performance plan gives 48 GB of RAM at 21.99 € as of 7 November 2026.
Split services into containers
Rather than one system that handles everything, place each service in its own container, with its own Compose file. A reverse proxy such as Caddy receives web traffic and routes it to the right service. A failure or a memory leak stays confined to one service.
- One folder per application, with its compose.yaml file and volumes.
- A single reverse proxy for websites, so only ports 80 and 443 are open.
- Databases on the internal network, never published on the internet.
Set a limit per service
Without a limit, a container that grows can take all the memory and drag the others down. In the Compose file, the mem_limit key sets a ceiling, and cpus limits the share of processor.
- Example: mem_limit: 4g for a game server, 2g for a website, 1g for a bot.
- Keep the sum of the limits below total RAM, leaving a margin for the system.
Monitor RAM and swap
Once the services run, check their consumption regularly. docker stats gives the memory of each container, free -h that of the machine. If swap grows, one service uses more than planned.
- docker stats --no-stream: an instant snapshot of each container.
- Note the peaks over a week before adding a service.
Back up before each addition
The more services there are, the more an error costs. Before each new addition, back up the volumes and databases. The method is detailed in the article backups and the 3-2-1 rule.
- Test a restore at least once, on a copy.
Why choose ACLClouds for 48 or 64 GB
The Performance plan gives 48 GB of RAM, 8 vCPU and 150 GB of storage, at 21.99 € as of 7 November 2026, about 0.46 € per GB of RAM. The Pro plan gives 64 GB, 12 vCPU and 250 GB of storage, at 34.99 €, about 0.55 € per GB.
- KVM virtualization: each VPS is a complete system, with its own kernel.
- Servers located in France.
- Control panel available in 7 languages.
- For Windows, the RDP Performance 48 GB plan is 32.99 € as of 7 November 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Is a 64 GB VPS faster than a 48 GB one?
It has more memory and vCPU, 12 against 8. It is only useful if your services really use these resources, which you check with docker stats.
Should everything run on one machine?
No. Separate critical services, such as a database, from experimental ones. A memory leak in one service can slow all the others.
What is the difference between 48 and 64 GB for several services?
The Pro plan adds 16 GB of RAM, 4 vCPU and 100 GB of storage. It suits you if the sum of your limits exceeds 40 GB, with a margin for the system.
