How do I reinstall the system on my VPS?

Back up, choose an active template and follow the reinstallation without losing access.

Reinstallation destroys the system disk then recreates the VM from the chosen template. It should never be used as a simple reboot.

Step-by-step procedure

  1. Back up outside the VPS

    Export the data and check that it can be accessed from another location.

  2. Open VPS tools

    Choose Reinstallation and then select an image marked available.

  3. Confirm destruction

    Read the warning again: data on the system disk will be deleted.

  4. Wait for the VPS to be created

    Do not modify the network or restart the action while the VM is being created.

  5. Renew access

    Retrieve the new initial access, verify the SSH fingerprint, and reapply the updates and security rules.

Complete destruction

A reinstallation cannot be canceled. Keep at least one backup outside the VM.
