Where to enter a license key, a token or a Steam API key?
Use the intended startup variables and avoid exposing a secret in files or screenshots.
FiveM, some Steam servers and community tools require an external key. Create it only on the provider’s official website.
Step-by-step procedure

Create the official key
Log in to the publisher’s portal and bind the key to the relevant address or server.

Open Startup
Find the variable described by the server template (egg), for example a CFX license or a Steam token.

Paste without spaces
Copy the entire value without additional quotes, then save.

Restart and check
Read the console. An “invalid token” error means the value is incorrect, expired or linked to the wrong address.
Keep the key secret
Always hide tokens in screenshots and immediately regenerate any key that has been published.
